YATHU YATHU: a trial in the pipeline!
Yathu Yathu seeks to address the question: do community based peer led interventions increase knowledge of HIV status and coverage of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services among adolescents and young people in Zambia, in comparison to the current standard care?
This is a 2 arm pragmatic cluster randomized trial to explore whether the implementation of the Yathu Yathu model increases uptake of HIV testing and SRH services in real world settings.
Two communities will be involved, namely: Kanyama and Chipata and will be divided into 20 geographical zones.
The trial is funded by the Medical Research Council in the UK and is expected to run for a period of 36 months.
