Maina Cheeba is a motivated, highly focused, diligent, and articulate laboratory professional with extensive experience in infectious disease diagnostics, clinical research, and laboratory management. She serves as Head of Laboratory for Zambart Laboratories, overseeing diagnostic operations and quality systems. Her technical expertise includes TB culture processing, HIV and COVID-19 diagnostic testing, and PCR techniques.
Over the years, she has been involved in various clinical research trials including ZAMSTAR Prevalence Study, ZAMPACT TBREACH Project, HPTN 071 PopART, TREATS and National TB Drug Resistance Surveys.
She is committed to strengthening health systems through scientific excellence, training and operational leadership.
