Zambart, as one of Zambia’s leading public research organizations was honoured to participate in the 2026 Biomedical Science Symposium hosted by the University of Zambia Biomedical Sciences Students’ Association (UNZABIOMEDSSA) at the Ridgeway Campus. The symposium was held under the theme “Redefining the Scope of Biomedical Science Through Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship.
Zambart was represented by Dr. Mohammed Limbada, Head of Epidemiology and Clinical Research (ECR), and Maina Cheeba, Laboratory Manager, who joined other distinguished guests from academia, professional associations, and the health sector. The event provided an important platform for sharing knowledge, inspiring future scientists, and highlighting the role of research in improving health outcomes.
During the symposium, participants explored the evolving landscape of biomedical science and the importance of innovation, research excellence, and entrepreneurship in addressing public health challenges. Discussions also focused on strengthening research ecosystems, fostering collaboration between institutions, and creating opportunities for young scientists to contribute meaningfully to healthcare advancements.
