Efforts to strengthen the translation of research into policy and practice took a significant step forward during a recent collaborative meeting focused on advancing the development of a Knowledge Translation (KT) Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework.
The development of both the KT Framework and its accompanying evaluation framework is a joint effort supported by Zambart through the Africa CDC–Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Fellowship. This collaboration highlights the importance of collective action in ensuring that research findings are effectively translated into real-world impact.
The primary objective of the meeting was to initiate the development of the KT M&E Framework, while also providing an update on progress made thus far. Building on prior engagements—where a draft KT Framework and a preliminary set of indicators were established—the session focused on refining and strengthening the M&E component that will support these outputs.
Bringing together researchers and M&E specialists, the meeting created space for in-depth discussions on practical, context-appropriate approaches to measuring and enhancing knowledge translation. Participants explored strategies to ensure that the framework is both robust and adaptable, capable of supporting the effective uptake of evidence into policy and practice with the core purpose of Improving Health for all.
