From 5th to 6th February 2026, the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI) in Moshi, Tanzania hosted a high-level workshop for new Training Partner Organizations (TPOs) under the WHO/TDR Clinical Research Leadership Fellowship Program. The event brought together leading research institutions from across Africa to strengthen collaboration and build capacity in clinical research leadership.
Zambart proudly participated in the workshop alongside other prominent institutions including the Uganda Virus Research Institute, the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), Institut Pasteur de Dakar, and the German Foundation for World Population (GSF).
Held at the Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel, the workshop focused on enhancing the implementation of the Clinical Research Leadership Fellowship Program. Discussions centered on mentorship approaches, institutional collaboration, and strategies to develop the next generation of African research leaders. The program aims to equip emerging scientists with the skills and experience needed to lead impactful clinical research initiatives that address pressing public health challenges.
Zambart’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening research capacity in Zambia and the wider region. By engaging in initiatives such as the WHO/TDR fellowship program, Zambart continues to contribute to the development of highly skilled researchers capable of driving innovation and evidence-based health interventions.
As collaborations forged during the workshop continue to grow, Zambart looks forward to contributing to a stronger, more connected research community dedicated to improving health outcomes across the continent.
