Zambart, in partnership with the National Health Research Authority (NHRA), convened a pivotal meeting to review the draft Knowledge Translation (KT) and Evaluation Frameworks. Held at the Latitude Hotel in Lusaka, the meeting brought together high-level stakeholders, researchers, and KT experts to shape the future of KT in Zambia.
The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen mechanisms for translating research evidence into policy and practice. The absence of established guidelines for KT has hindered the effective application of research findings, and Zambart is committed to bridging this gap.
KT is crucial for ensuring research findings inform policy decisions, ultimately improving health outcomes. By developing a context-fit KT framework, Zambart and NHRA aim to enhance the uptake of research evidence in policy and practice.
The development of the KT framework and evaluation framework is a collaborative effort, supported by Zambart through the Africa CDC-Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Fellowship. This partnership underscores the importance of collective action in driving progress in KT.
