The Zambart Schista study team recently conducted a site visit to Livingstone, aimed at supporting retention activities and encouraging participants to remain engaged in the study. During the visit, the team conducted several activities to update stakeholders and participants on the study’s progress.
On September 24th, a stakeholder update meeting was held with men, where the team shared updates on the SCHISTA study’s progress and informed them of the completion of the SchistoM/MGS study.
The following day, September 25th, the team met with the SCHISTA Sisters, providing them with an update on the study’s progress and closure of the SchistoM/MGS study. The team also conducted a community walk, distributing study IEC materials to raise awareness about the SCHISTA study.
These community engagement activities demonstrate the team’s commitment to keeping participants and stakeholders informed and involved throughout the study. By doing so, the SCHISTA study aims to maintain a strong relationship with the community and ensure the success of the research.
Schista study is longitudinal female genital schistosomiasis (FGS) and multi-pathogen screening study in Zambia that uses integrated home-based self-sampling to detect FGS, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Trichomonas, and HIV.
