Zambart in collaboration with the Zambia National Research Authority (ZNRA) recently held a pivotal meeting to plan for the development of a Knowledge Translation Framework in Zambia. This initiative is part of the Koffi Annan Senior Researcher Fellowship Award project, funded by Africa CDC and awarded to Dr. Kwame Shanaube, Zambart’s Executive Director.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders from various institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Zambia National Health Research Authority (NHRA), University of Zambia Biomedical Research Ethics Committee (UNZABREC), University of Zambia, National Health Research and Training Institute (NHRTI), Zambia Pediatrics Association, Seed Global Health, University Teaching Hospital (UTH), Lusaka Apex Medical University (LAMU), and the Global Health Research Network. This diverse group of experts contributed to the development of a comprehensive plan for knowledge translation in Zambia.

The Knowledge Translation Framework aims to facilitate the systematic use of research findings in policy and practice, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes in Zambia. By bridging the gap between research and decision-making, this initiative will enable policymakers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to make informed decisions based on the best available evidence.
