Zambart is leading the operational research task of the USAID-sponsored Eradicate TB project (ETB). From 2017-2021, ETB will work in partnership with the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) to halve TB-related mortality in the 6 northern provinces by the year 2022.
Zambart has trained and mentored 4 high burden districts (Chingola, Ndola, Mpulungu, and Kapiri Mposhi) to conduct research on their TB programs. The goal is to improve TB service implementation at the district-level. Topics include research into low sputum sample referrals, as well as analysis of the TB patient care cascade: from screening to diagnosis and treatment.
