The 3rd Zambia National TB Drug Resistance Survey 2019 – 2020 dissemination meeting was held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka on 22rd March 2022. Results and key messages from the survey include:
1. TB drug resistance in Zambia continues to be relatively low and has not increased compared to the previous survey
2. No XDR-TB was identified by molecular testing
3. Whole genome sequencing provided data on pyrazinamide and second line drug resistance as well as on strain typing
4. The only risk factor significantly associated with RR-TB was having had previous TB
